Marinette County approves funds to support City of Marinette Airboat after reconsideration

1 min read

Past month the Marinette County Board of supervisors permitted contributing $43,900 to the Metropolis of Marinette toward the invest in of a new 24 ft lookup and rescue airboat with the caveat that the county be in a position to use the airboat. However, at yesterday’s County Board conference a motion was brought forth by Supervisor Allen to rethink motion taken by the County board to transfer the $43,900 to the City of Marinette for order of the Airboat. Since the City of Marinette has recently allotted $500 for every personnel for COVID-19 vaccinations employing ARPA cash when they could have applied their ARPA resources towards the funding of the airboat instead of inquiring the County for funding. County Administrator John Lefebvre claims, “the Town of Marinette bought $1.1 million in ARPA funding.”

Supervisor Ken Keller suggests, “there is a purpose why the town is seeking for participation in the obtaining of the airboat.”

Just after a lengthy dialogue, the board voted, and it arrived in at 14 in favor of the airboat to 13 not in favor.  The predicted shipping date of the airboat is mid-January. © All rights reserved. | Newsphere by AF themes.
